Anne James creates beautiful private gardens, each developed through a process of careful observation and listening, an appreciation for client’s lifestyle, collaboration with the team, great attention to detail, a deep understanding of natural processes, and a respect for the “Genius Loci,” the spirit of the place.

Anne has over 30 years of experience in landscape architecture, in internationally acclaimed offices - including over a decade as a colleague of the legendary Richard Haag, Carol R. Johnson, Laurie Olin and Bob Hanna.  Her studies under Ian McHarg at Penn helped fuse her strong background in natural science with ecological design precepts, resulting in a deep commitment to sustainable design based on informed intuition.
